What at an amazing day at the ongoing Gender Based Violence workshop for local leaders that started on Monday 11th August, Mathira East, Nyeri County. On this particular day participants were able to experience practicals during the visit of the Assistant County Commissioner to the area.
They were able to get a chance to speak on GBV issues to the public but also on life style preventable diseases common in the area. Lifestyle diseases issues is a topic mainstreamed at this workshop.
They are expected to continue taking advantage of such public forums and any every other public forums to speak on these issues and create awareness.
This turned out to be a great example to the participants of how to take advantage of ongoing local forums including churches, social gatherings like weddings etc to speak on these issues
GBV along with lifestyle diseases has become critical issues and these leaders are expected to champion the fight against these issues in their communities
