Our recently training community facilitators in Central Kenya on Gender Based Violence concerns continue to be active in the community door to door and taking advantage of local forums to speak on GBV.
Here James our community facilitator taking advantage of a local forum and is reaching out to a group pf men at Mathira East Sub County.
The statistics on GBV are alarming with increasing cases of child related rape, defilement and GBV related suidice in Nyeri. Lately in just three months 101 people have died in the county due to suicide, 77 men and 24 women, in just a week lately 8 suicide cases have taken place. 48 children were raped in a single month.
There is urgency by all stakeholders to respond and engage communities to speak out on these issues and explore solutions.
